Shattered Sky

Warriors: A Vision of Shadows- Book #3

By: Erin Hunter

“Embrace what you find in the shadows, for only they can clear the sky.”

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if suddenly, a group of people just come rampaging over and take over what is yours? Have you ever imagined that a group of people would just like to kill everyone one by one? Life is difficult, I am sure you can agree with that! Even a cat’s life can be hard, in a book called Shattered Sky. When a group of cats called “the Kin” comes to take over all the territory by the big lake, all 4 cat Clans are all endangered of getting all wiped out.

The book Shattered Sky is a fantasy and adventure novel written by Erin Hunter. All 4 warrior Clans, ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan, have always lived by the lake. They are all rivals from the very start, with borders for their territory to keep the other Clans away. Now, all four Clans are facing the most dangerous enemy that they have ever known,  a group called “the Kin”. ShadowClan has already fallen. The Kin now rules the pine forest, and their cruel leader, Darktail, will not stop until he has conquered the rest of the Clans. Alderheart, ThunderClan’s medicine cat, is trying to solve what the prophecy from StarClan means (StarClan is the Clans dead warrior ancestors.). Twigpaw, ThunderClan’s apprentice, is trying to do her best to help her Clan. Violetpaw, one of the Kin’s members, is trying to help the other Clans destroy the Kin by secretly passing information to the 4 Clans. Alderheart is more certain than ever that their only hope to defeat the Kin is to find the lost SkyClan and fulfill StarClan’s prophecy-before Darktail’s vicious reign puts an end to the warrior Clans forever.

In Shattered Sky, a cat named Onestar was told a very shocking secret which caused him to back off the battlefield. When the other 3 Clans asked why he did, when he could nearly have killed the Kin’s leader Darktail, he kept hiding the secret and didn’t want to tell anyone. He started blaming others for his own mistakes about them not killing Darktail. I can connect this to the world because sometimes, people tend to hide secrets, just like Onestar did! People also tend to hide secrets for so long, it causes trouble to themselves and others. They will have a feeling of guilt buried deep inside of them when they don’t tell others the truth about their troubles sometimes. Like them, Onestar has just found out something shocking about himself, and instead of telling others what it is, he gets mad and fearful for himself and takes it out on the other 3 Clan leaders. He gets mad at the other 3 leaders for failing to drive the Kin out when they had a chance. From this, we can all learn that hiding something about yourself won’t always turn out really well.

I think this book and the whole series of Warriors is fascinating! If I were to rate this book out of 10, I would rate this book 10/10. Even if I rated the whole warrior series it would be 10/10! It’s amazing!. I rate this book and it’s series this well because it really talks about things that interest me, and lures me to just keep on reading it!. For example, I like the part where every time, the Kin and the Clans altogether go fight for their territory! Also when they are set off into dangerous quests to figure out what the prophecy is telling them to do! It makes me so interested to see who will win and what will happen next! This books reading level is 5.9. The average of this whole series book is 5.6! Therefore, I recommend this to grades 6 and up, and to people who like fantasy and adventure books. Also people who are trying to find a good juicy book to read, or a person who likes to read series of books! Lastly, I recommend this to people who are in love with cats. Enjoy!
